About the HPCCommunity.org initiative
The HPCCommunity.org effort is a technical community for the High Performance Computing (HPC) community. We focus on:
The community includes Platform Computing R&D team members, architects and developers, external collaborators and a growing community of users and developers in the HPC world.
We aim to share with the community our technology from 15 years of leadership in High Performance Computing (HPC) and Grid and we welcome the participation of all interested parties.
We strive to share mainly open source projects here. For various reasons, some projects need to remain closed source for now. It is this site’s promise that all downloaded software is free to use (as in beer) and distribute.
HPCCommunity.org consists of several communities and projects. Hopefully, this site will grow over time with the help of users and developers from the open source community. Our mission is to provide community members access to leading edge HPC and Grid technologies for them to use to build their next HPC cluster or Grid platform.
As the main sponsor of the site, Platform Computing will provide all necessary assistance and resources to HPCCommunity.org, however the real barometer of success will ultimately depend on users and contributors to this community.
So, whether you are a system administrator hoping to build the next HPC cluster or a developer wanting to build the next big Grid application, we hope you will find the necessary resources and access to a technical community here to help you achieve your goals.
We welcome any suggestions, ideas and improvement you may have.
Participating in the community
We encourage you to participate actively in this community by posting questions and answers in the forums and downloading code or projects to try out.
For the open source projects, we welcome code contribution, bug fixes, patches etc.
For the closed source projects, you can still contribute by building your applications on it and sharing your success (or failure) stories with the community.
We are always open to new or existing projects, which we can collaborate with that would enhance the objectives of this site.
Sincerely
HPCCommunity.org Team
