When to use Add Application Wizard during Symphony application development cycle
Add Application Wizard is a graphic user interface of Symphony to help users easily register and deploy application to the Grid.
Here are 3 examples of using the wizard during the Symphony application development cycle:
1. If you just want to register your application, you can do,
Open DE PMC -> Configure Applications -> Under "Global Actions" drop-down menu, select "Add Application using the profile editor" -> You can either import an existing application profile (.xml) or specify the profile directly through the input fields on the wizard -> Finish it by clicking the "Export" button"
2. If you want to register and deploy your application, you can do
Open DE PMC -> Configure Applications -> Under "Global Actions" drop-down menu select "Add/Remove Applications" -> Select "Add new application" -> Import an existing application profile or create a new profile using the wizard -> Specify information about your service including name of the service, start command and service package -> Specify session types -> Confirm what you specified to finish the "Add new application" process.
3. If you have Java Symphony application already, you can add your application through Eclipse as well.
Open Eclipse (make sure Symphony plugin is installed) -> Import an existing Java Symphony application, i.e. Symphony Java sample or write your Java application from scratch using Symphony Java Application Project Wizard (File -> New -> Project -> Symphony -> Symphony Java Application)
