    Lightbulb How to Post a Blog Entry?

    In order to post a blog article, the first requirement would be to have the blogging capabilities, which can only be assigned by site administrator. Hence, if you are interested in writing a how-to article, tips and tricks, or post relating to High Performance Computing, please let us know, and do include what are the areas that you would like to blog about. We would be glad to have you on board.

    Understanding the Capabilities of Hpccommunity Blogger
    This is what you would be able to see on your blogging page.

    No code has to be inserted here.

    As a blogger, you should be able to see 2 other links under the Blog Options.
    Your Blog - This is where all your blog posts situated.
    Post to your Blog - This is the blog entry submission.

    In additional, there are also a few more links under the Blog Control Panel.

    As a blogger, you should be able to see 4 more links under the Blog Control Panel.
    Your Blog - This is where all your blog posts situated.
    Blog Title and Description - Change the title and description for your blog.
    Blog Categories - Setup categories for your blog entries. (Limited to 5)
    Manage Trackbacks - Managing trackbacks to your blog.

    How to Post a Blog Entry?

    To post your blog entry, click Post to your Blog under the Blog Options.

    There are 2 major components under your blog entry submission.
    Post to your Blog - Where you would made an entry of your blog post
    Additional Options - Settings and configuration for the current entry



    Post to your Blog

    The tools on Post to your Blog is somehow similiar to most word processing programs. Generally, you could hover your mouse over the individual buttons, and a tooltip will appear, displaying a general description of the specify function.

    After you have finished your posting, you have 3 choices, to either save it, preview it or to post it.
    Save draft - Will save as draft for later amendments.
    Preview it - Will show how the post will look like.
    Post now - Will publish your blog post right away.

    Additional Options


    Blog Categories Section
    Within additional options, you should be able to tag the current entry to the related blog categories, provided you have previously set up the categories. (More information on how to create blog categories).

    Options Section
    You could define various options regarding your blog entry. Normally, default setting will be fine. Click on (?) for detailed explanation for individual item.

    Miscellaneous Options
    You could set the Publish Status to Publish Now, or save the entry as draft, or even schedule the publish date. In such a way, you could pre-post your entry and it will be displayed on that specified date.

    Blog Entry Subscription Section
    You could subscribe to your blog entry such that if anyone would to provide comments on your entry, you will be notified via email.

    Attach Files Section
    Any files related to your blog entry could be uploaded as attachment. Our current valid file format would bmp, doc, gif, gz, jpeg, jpg, pdf, png, psd, tar, txt, zip.


    Lastly, once you are satisfied with your blog entry and any other settings, you are ready to publish your post by clicking on the Post Now. Alternatively, you could click on the Preview button to preview the look of the blog entry, or you could Save Draft.
