Question FlowManager - building a webservice around it- where to start?

Hello - Great community here! if this question has been addrssed already i apologize in advance, was wondering if you can help point me in the right direction / thread - I looked and dont think I saw anything ...

I am looking to build a webservice around flowmanager, so that it can be invoked and used to monitor status / control jobs through a custom webpage. Besides using the flowmanager command line or the flowmanager ui, i was hoping i could interface with it through an API (java, c, c++?). Since flowmanager GUI presents itself as a web front end, I was kind of hoping to hook into whatever backend service it calls for monitor/control functions for jobs. Any thoughts on how this could be accomplished?

    rgds & tx,

    Hi Summerian.
By "flowmanager" are you referring to Platform's Process Manager product Platform Process Manager — Platform Computing I think it might have been called Job FlowManger at one point. Or is this the "flowmanager" something else.

    Hi Summerian,

If you are talking about Process Manager, then I'll let you know that the Java API used by the GUI/CLI and the protocol used to communicate with the server have not been generally published, and as far as I know, there is no plan to document them in order to make them generally available in the near future.

That leaves you with driving the CLI in your service as one option. I also have heard that a couple of customers have worked with Platform professional services in order to build custom solutions based on the Java API, so you could also pursue that avenue.

Sorry that there's no easy answer.
