Question MBD launch problem. Need your help!

Hi
Please read this. I am new, Need your help!

My lsf runs in linux, and uses floating license(7050@**.**.**.**) in another machine(Windows).

After setting up my cluster, I run lsid and lshosts. Their output is normal.
But bhosts's output is:

gridserver:~ # bhosts
LSF is down. Please wait ...
LSF is down. Please wait ...
Connection refused by server

Seems like lim and res all up. But sdb/mdb is down.

On my master host, Errors in "sbatchd.log":

May 8 01:04:11 2009 6693 Last message repeated 19 time(s).
May 8 01:04:41 2009 6693 6 7.04 sinit: Batch feature not enabled, lic 400001

Errors in "mbatchd.log":

May 8 00:11:45 2009 6280 3 7.04 minit: Batch/JS feature not enabled, lic 400001
May 8 00:11:45 2009 6280 3 7.04 log_mbdDie: elogFname is not initialized
die: signal 201

What could be the reason and how to fix?
(Is my license problem? This floating license work correctly when it supports a windows master host.)

Regards,
Andy

LSF floating licenses are only used for LSF clients not for LSF server hosts. Are you sure it is a floating license?

Looks like you are using LSF 7.04. Should be on support, contact support@platform.com for help.

Thank you for your reply.

My description is inaccuracy. Sorry. Its not floating license for client hosts, is a license server offering license service.

Can license server on Linux or on Windows all offer LSF server host a license service?

Yes doesn't matter which platform the license server is running on.

But yeah if your mbatchd is down you won't be able to run bhosts.

Shouldnt be a license problem. As long as you have lsf_base feature in license file it should be ok.

On the master host do a badmin reconfig. This will check your files and see if there are any config errors. If not it will restart mbatchd.
