    Hello qlnie,

    Thank you!

My first question: Is the Platform Lava 1.0 backwards compatible with the old Flatform Lava 6.1?

    Regards,
    Duke

    Hi CCLS_Metadata,

interesting question. I cannot say for sure as I am just experimenting with lava.

But as I found out there are some incompabilities. I tried to run the lavagui-6.1 with lava 1.0 and it did not work out as the gabd of the lavagui did not successfully talk to the new lim and co.

    Code:
    [root@master52 ~]# tail -f /var/log/lava/lim.log.master52
    Sep 15 21:26:10 2008 6094 3 1.0 main: Unknown request code 62 vers 0 from 127.0.0.1:1019
    Sep 15 21:26:10 2008 6094 3 1.0 main: Unknown request code 16 vers 0 from 127.0.0.1:1019

I read somewhere in the globus documentation that gabds can be retrieved from Platform...

    FYI:

I contacted a Platform System employee. And here is the answer:

"Lava 1.0 is command-line compatible with Lava 6.1 (old version)."
