It sounds as though you are definitely on the right track. I wouldn't pay for any advertising if I were you, it sounds like you are on a bit of a budget. Instead, maybe you can produce some flyers at a lower or minimal cost, and distribute them or post them in prominent places. I would leave stacks of them on a store counter that is very busy (with the store's permission, of course) and then perhaps approach these corporations that will be sponsoring your packs and see if they will do some of their own promotion etc.
