Overview
repopatch is a tool that downloads updates for various OS distribution. It is capable of downloading updated packages from the Internet. repopatch will only retrieve updates for the distribution that repoman supports.
OS distribution
Every OS distribution maintains some degree of updates. These updates are published on a well defined location that a package manager is able to retrieve from. For example, Fedora Core 6 stores them at http://example.com/Linux/packages/fe...updates/6/i386.
Overview
repoman is responsible for creating various OS repositories supported in Kusu. Every OS such as Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 or Fedora Core 6, has a specific directories layout.
Repositories
A repository is a set of well defined directories that contains installation images, software packages and certain meta information. Meta information such as yum meta information is used by Anaconda to install rpms.
Creating a repository
Hi. I’m one of the developers of Project Kusu. Besides ensuring that the guys are well fed with caffeine and apples, I help to ensure that they are happy. I strongly believe that a happy developer creates quality code.
So what else do I do?
I work on various expects of Project Kusu such as creating various utilities that the developers will need and tidying up the loose ends of the project.
